3. Locate and remove all eight Torx bolts that secure the front header bar to the windshield frame using a T30 Torx bit socket (or equivalent). These bolts are located under plastic covers at each corner of the windshield frame. Once all eight bolts are removed, carefully set aside the header bar. Be careful not to scratch or damage either piece as you work.
4. With the header bar removed, unclip and remove both front weatherstrips by gently prying them away from their respective mounting points along the door openings using a trim panel tool (or equivalent).
You can now see inside each door opening where four more Torx bolts secure each door surround soundbar bracket to sheet metal brackets welded onto the body tub. Remove these eight bolts (two per door) using a T40 Torx bit socket (or equivalent). Again, be careful not to scratch or damage any surfaces as you work.
5. Now that all twelve Bolts have been removed, You and your helper can now begin lifting off The Hardtop starting at The rear edge near The tailgate. Work slowly and carefully around The entire perimeter until The entire Hardtop has been lifted free.. Set it down in a safe place where it won’t be scratched or damaged.
6. And that’s it! You’ve now successfully removed your Jeep Wrangler’s hard top!
